03.03.15REEFER CONTAINER OUTLOOK REMAINS GOOD

With an estimated output of more than 230,000 teu (abt 120,000 units) the worldwide reefer container production in 2014 should be abt 10 pct higher than in 2014. Leasing companies have again taken the majority of the production but also some container carriers have substantially increased their reefer inventories. The outlook for 2015 remains good altthough margins will remain under pressure as we understand from the market. This applies for the manufacturers which have substantially increased their production lines in 2014 as well as the Leasing companies and the carriers alike. The largest containervessels in service meantime have 2100 reefer container plugs with a theoretical capacity of 5 million cbft (equivalent to the capacity of 10 average conventional reefer ships of 500,000 cbft ).

DELTA completed another transport order for 500 x 40' new reefre containers destined for Dole, the worl's largest producer and Marketer of fresh fruit and vegetables in January this year (see below photo).
